About Us

In 2009 my Mum made a decision to end her pain and suffering and tragically took her life. Her battle with mental health became too much and she felt she had no other option!

Unfortunately, by doing so, all that pain and suffering got shifted onto myself and all our family and friends that loved and cared about her.

So many people of all walks of life struggle deeply with their mental health, myself included! Whilst it may not feel like it at the time, suicide is never the answer and the pain does not just simply end.

Losing my Mum has opened my eyes to how many people struggle and just how much of a taboo subject suicide still is!! When my Mum was admitted into the secure unit she told me to tell everyone she was ‘visiting family’! She was genuinely ashamed that she was in hospital receiving treatment!

I can’t bring my Mum back, but I can help rid the stigma still attached to mental health struggles and I will continue to keep talking and raising awareness as long as I possibly can.

So in memory and honour of my Mum, my husband and I decided to launch a mental health clothing brand named ‘Believe Wear UK Ltd’ to help end the stigma surrounding mental health and to remind people that even in the darkest times we can find positivity.

Our initial collection is a tribute to my Mum with embroidered and printed quotes, in her handwriting, taken from the last letter she ever wrote me. Even in her darkest hour, she was still able to find positive words to remind me to believe in my own worth. And as my Mum was known to her friends as 'LadyBird', it wouldn’t be a true tribute without a little Ladybird on each garment.

Our store was originally due to launch in September 2023 whilst I was on maternity leave.

Tragically life took a horrendous turn for us and our baby girl passed away at just 6 days old. Once again my mental health took a battering, but wanting to stay true to my word on raising awareness for mental health, I started an online Grief Diary and decided to put my efforts into our clothing brand. In honour of our baby girl Mabel Olivia, we have created a children’s collection with a little Butterfly on each garment.
